Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information PaisleyFinn collects, why, and what you can do about it — in plain English, no jargon.
PaisleyFinn ("we", "us", "our") provides website design services to tradespeople in the United Kingdom. This policy applies to our website and any quote, audit or enquiry form you use to contact us. We are the "data controller" for the information you share with us. "You" means anyone who contacts us or uses our site.
On this page
1. What we collect
We only collect the information you give us directly when you contact us or request a quote or website audit. Depending on what you fill in, that may include:
- Your name;
- Your trade type and business name;
- Your email address and/or phone number, if you provide them;
- Your website address, if you send it for an audit;
- Anything you choose to tell us in the message or budget fields, such as what you need help with.
We don't ask for sensitive personal information, and we'd ask you not to send any through our forms.
2. Why we collect it
We use your information only to:
- Reply to your enquiry and answer your questions;
- Prepare a quote or carry out a free website audit you've asked for;
- Provide our website design service if you decide to go ahead;
- Keep a record of our conversation so we can pick up where we left off.
We will not send you marketing emails you haven't asked for, and we never sell or rent your details to anyone.
3. Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on:
- Your consent — when you choose to send us your details through a form;
- Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — for example, preparing a quote;
- Our legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and run our business, in a way that doesn't override your rights.
4. Contact & quote forms
When you submit a form on our site, your answers are delivered to us by email through a third-party form service, FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which simply passes your message to our inbox. Your details are processed by that service only to deliver your message and are subject to their own privacy terms. We then keep your message in our email account so we can reply and help you.
5. Cookies & analytics
We keep things simple. Our site does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not run analytics that profile you. Any cookies that exist are limited to what's strictly necessary for the site to work. Because of this, you won't be tracked across the web as a result of visiting us.
6. Who we share it with
We don't sell or trade your information. We only share it where necessary to provide our service or meet a legal duty, for example:
- Our form delivery service (FormSubmit) and our email provider, which handle your message so it reaches us;
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the site;
- Authorities or advisers, if we're legally required to disclose information.
These providers act on our behalf and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry only as long as we need it. If we don't end up working together, we'll generally remove your enquiry from our records within around 12 months. If you become a client, we keep what's needed to provide the service and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete it. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.
8. Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using reputable providers and securing access to our accounts. No method of sending information over the internet is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your details safe and limit who can see them.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong;
- Ask us to delete your information;
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these, just email us — see section 12. We'll respond within one month.
10. Children
Our service is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information about anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we'll remove them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if the way we work changes. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. The version in place when you contact us is the one that applies.
12. Contact & complaints
